The Year is over half way through and I thought what better way to celebrate than to publish a list of the top 10 TV shows downloaded so far this year.
Because this list of TV shows covers a wide range of downloading methods this list is in no way definitive.
1. Game Of Thrones
Game of Thrones is an HBO adaptation of American author George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy novel series A Song of Ice and Fire. The show explores a medieval-like fantasy world with its plethora of characters all struggling in the only game that matters–the game of thrones. And in this game you either win or you die, there is no middle ground
2. True Blood
The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a barmaid living in Louisiana who can read people’s minds, and how her life is turned upside down when the Vampire Bill, walks into her place of employment two years after vampires ‘came out of the coffin’ on national television.
3. The Big Bang Theory
Leonard Hofstadter and Sheldon Cooper are brilliant physicists, the kind of “beautiful minds” that understand how the universe works. But none of that genius helps them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny moves in next door. Sheldon, Leonard’s roommate, is quite content spending his nights playing Klingon Boggle with their socially dysfunctional friends, fellow CalTech scientists Howard Wolowitz and Raj Koothrappali. However, Leonard sees in Penny a whole new universe of possibilities… including love.
4. Breaking Bad
Walter White, a struggling high school chemistry teacher is diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. He turns to a life of crime, producing and selling methamphetamine accompanied by a former student, Jesse Pinkman with the aim of securing his family’s financial future before he dies.
5. Spartacus: Gods of the Area
Before Spartacus struck down his first opponent in the arena, there were many gladiators who passed though the gates onto the sand.’Spartacus: Gods of the Arena’ tells the story of the original Champion of the House of Batiatus: Gannicus in a more ruthless time before Spartacus’ arrival where honor was just finding its way into the arena
The series follows a Federal Bureau of Investigation “Fringe Division” team based in Boston. The team uses unorthodox “fringe” science and FBI investigative techniques to investigate a series of unexplained, often ghastly occurrences, which are related to mysteries surrounding a parallel universe.
7. Family Guy
Sick, twisted, politically incorrect and Freakin’ Sweet animated series featuring the adventures of the dysfunctional Griffin family. Bumbling Peter and long-suffering Lois have three kids. Stewie (a brilliant but sadistic baby bent on killing his mother and taking over the world), Meg (the oldest, and is the most unpopular girl in town) and Chris (the middle kid, he’s not very bright but has a passion for movies). The final member of the family is Brian – a talking dog and much more than a pet, he keeps Stewie in check whilst sipping Martinis and sorting through his own life issues.
8. V (2009)
Today, the world woke up to find spaceships over every major city. The Visitors claim to have come in peace, bringing gifts of medical miracles and technological breakthroughs. They promise to do no harm… They’re lying…
Go deeper into the medical mysteries of House, TV’s most compelling drama. Hugh Laurie stars as the brilliant but sarcastic Dr. Gregory House, a maverick physician who is devoid of bedside manner. While his behavior can border on antisocial, Dr. House thrives on the challenge of solving the medical puzzles that other doctors give up on. Together with his hand-picked team of young medical experts, he’ll do whatever it takes in the race against the clock to solve the case.
10. How I met your Mother
How I Met Your Mother is a comedy about Ted and how he fell in love. It all started when Ted’s best friend, Marshall, dropped the bombshell that he was going to propose to his longtime girlfriend, Lily, a kindergarten teacher. At that moment, Ted realized that he had better get a move on if he, too, hopes to find true love. Helping him in his quest is his friend Barney, a confirmed bachelor with endless, sometimes outrageous opinions, a penchant for suits and a foolproof way to meet women. When Ted meets Robin, he’s sure it’s love at first sight, but destiny has something else in store.
