What TV did I watch this week?

Just for fun I thought I would put this list out there of all the TV shows that I watched for the week; unfortunately most of these shows are sooon ending for the season BUT that also comes with a positive note; All the new shows coming to take their place.

These Shows are not in any particular order.

Torchwood

Torchwood

Captain Jack Harkness is a man from the 51st century trapped in the past, finding himself drawn into alien conspiracies as he works for Torchwood. Torchwood is a top secret British government agency whose job it is to investigate alien goings on in the world, and to act as mankind’s best interest and last hope for defence, if needed.

Doctor Who

Doctor Who (2005)

The Doctor looks and seems human. He’s handsome, witty, and could be mistaken for just another man in the street. But the Doctor is a Time Lord: a 900 year old alien with 2 hearts, part of a gifted civilization who mastered time travel. The Doctor saves planets for a living – more of a hobby actually, and he’s very, very good at it. He’s saved us from alien menaces and evil from before time began – but just who is he?

This show follows Matt Passmore as Jim, a Chicago cop who gets kicked off the force after being shot and wrongfully accused by his ex-captain of having an affair with his wife. After receiving his payout, Jim decides to moves to a small Florida town to join the state police.

 

True Blood

True Blood

The series follows Sookie Stackhouse, a barmaid living in Louisiana who can read people’s minds, and how her life is turned upside down when the Vampire Bill, walks into her place of employment two years after vampires ‘came out of the coffin’ on national television.

 

The Colbert Report

The Colbert Report

Tune in to The Colbert Report, as Stephen Colbert, from The Daily Show gives his own take on the issues of the day, and more importantly, to tell you why everyone else’s take is just plain wrong. The series is a variety/news show revolving around Colbert’s TV persona, a parody of opinionated cable news personalities like Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Joe Scarborough. In addition to its satirical mock-conservative analysis of current news topics, the show features interviews and often a musical guest. The series airs Monday through Thursday at 11:30 pm EST and re-airs several times a day.

Forget trying to keep pace with 24 hour news networks- the best fake news show in the world will provide you with all the news you can handle. The Daily Show is a comedic view of recent news headlines and political figures through a series of satirical monologues by Jon Stewart along with segments by “correspondents” and finally interviews with guest celebrities and political figures. Craig Kilborn (SportsCenter) was the original host until the fourth season when Jon Stewart (The Jon Stewart Show) came in to take over after Kilborn left for CBS.

HavenHaven

When shrewd and confident FBI Special Agent Audrey Parker arrives in the small town of Haven she soon finds herself caught up with the return of The Troubles, a plague of supernatural afflictions that occurred in the town at least once before. If that was not enough to draw her in, she also finds a link that may lead her to the mother she has never known.

After saving the life of an international diplomat in Washington D.C., a pair of U.S. Secret Service agents are whisked away to a covert location in South Dakota that houses supernatural objects that the U.S. Government has collected over the centuries. The government has been relocating the world’s geniuses and their families to this rustic town for years where innovation and chaos have lived hand in hand. U.S. Marshal Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) stumbles upon this odd town after wrecking his car and becoming stranded there. When the denizens of the town unleash an unknown scientific creation, Carter jumps in to try to restore order and consequently learns of one of the country’s best kept secrets.

Alphas

Alphas

Alphas follows a team of ordinary citizens whose brain anomalies imbue them with extraordinary mental and physical abilities. Taking the law into their own hands, the unlikely team, led by Dr. Lee Rosen (David Strathairn) investigates cases that suggest other Alpha activity to uncover what the CIA, FBI and Pentagon have not been able or willing to solve. These gifted individuals must balance their quirky personalities and disparate backgrounds with their not always visible powers as they work to solve crimes, stop the ticking time bomb and catch the enemy.
